Do what you can to run the other way.
At every turn, you are met with choices. Every choice has a story to tell that will either lead to short term comfort or distress.
Usually, the distressful situation is the path that will lead to the greatest growth.
Intuitively, you already know this.
Do I go to the gym or watch the tv show?
Do I hit the snooze button or do I get up even though I’m still sleepy?
These 2 choices are ones that people most likely go through everyday.
The 2nd set of choices does require a bit of nuance but I would expect that waking up early is a better substitute to sleeping.
The awesome thing is that once you make the tougher choice, you are then presented with another set of choices that can up the ante.
Let’s use the 2nd set for example.
Okay… you woke up early, now what? Well, now you can spend the first 10 minutes awake either scrolling through social media or you can write in a gratitude journal.
Again, we know which is scientifically proven to be better for your mental health.
I need to mention that the majority of choices we make will be more grey than black or white. So it’s necessary to weigh the pros and cons.
I do find that chasing the uncomfortable feeling, builds a stronger mind and body.
Go make the tough choices and build the stronger YOU!
