New Year’s Revolution!

Make long lasting changes to revolutionize the year 2022.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone mentioning changes that they wished to make as a ” New Year’s resolution.”

I would be pretty rich!

Now, imagine if I had a nickel for the percentage of times that those changes were actually implemented and followed.

I would NOT be rich!

I have done the exact same thing in the past. Made sweeping declarations of change while only fueled by the motivation of a new calendar.

I don’t want this piece to dissuade others from goal-setting. On the contrary, I want goals to be hinged on more than just drips of inspiration.

Motivation can certainly take you places in the short run but it’s the self-discipline that’ll create lasting impact.

Those nights when no one is watching you – keep yourself in check. That’s where the true magic happens.

Tips for goal setting:

Write down exactly what you want to achieve, then break them down into smaller pieces.

For example, if your goal is to lose weight, write down the exact weight you would like to reach. Now, set incremental goals along the way that are more manageable.

Stay self-disciplined to your actions. Make sure your actions are in alignment with those smaller goals.

So long as you follow that path, you will achieve the larger end goal.

Visualize on where you want to be!

Take a moment to sit quietly and close your eyes.

Take as long as it takes to visualize yourself having already completed the goal.

Feel what it would be like to be in shape.

I will write another post entirely for this process as this has been my most successful method of achieving my goals.

Please take a more concerted and formulaic approach to becoming the better you.

Simply stating that you are setting a ” New Year’s resolution” will most likely not be enough.
